Born in 1948 in Borçka, Artvin, Keramettin Gençtürk received his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from the İDMM Academy Department of Civil Engineering and his master’s degree from the Faculty of Business Administration at Istanbul University.

As the founding chairman of the Kocaeli branch of the Union of Chambers of Turkish Engineers and Architects (TMMOB), Gençtürk played an active role throughout his civil engineering career in the planning and realization of countless structures and projects.

Serving as the chairman of the board of Yapıgüç Inc., Gençtürk made significant contributions to the training of many young architects and engineers. He also carried out activist efforts aimed at combating unsafe building stock and eliminating earthquake vulnerabilities through various communication channels such as newspaper statements and public speeches.

Keramettin Gençtürk, who attracted attention in Turkish political life through his past political activities, is modestly recognized within the borders of Kocaeli thanks to his professional experience and public stance.
